Gooseneck Recommendation for 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty Diesel 8 Foot Bed Single Rear Wheel 4WD

Question:

I have a 2015 F350 8 foot bed 4WD diesel Single Rear Wheel. Will I need to lower my exhaust to install the C60720 and will I need to permanently lower my exhaust for this hitch? Also, it seems the heat patch must be removed from under the bed for this hitch and others to install. And, it appears it is not replaced. So, it is OK to remove this heat reflector and not replace it? Why is it OK? I assume it is not really needed, if not replaced? While everything I read says it fits, can you confirm this hitch Curt - 60720 will fit my truck. Also, this hitch seems a bit easier to install than the similar BandW. Is this correct? And, do you have a recommendation between the 2 hitches. Thanks

Yes the Curt # C60720 will fit your 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty 8 Foot Bed Diesel with the single rear wheel. Your exhaust will also be permanently lowered with the Curt # C60720, but only sligthly.

According to the instructions the exhaust will need to be lowered slightly on 2005 and newer Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with a diesel engine.

There are two types of factory tail pipe mounts on the Super Duty. One uses a single bolt through the side of the frame while the other uses two bolts, one through the side of the frame and one through the bottom of the frame. Both factory mounts can be lowered with the use of the supplied exhaust spacer mount.

I have linked a few photos from the directions that show you how the exhaust will lower for your convenience.

As for the heat shield, in the Curt instructions it states that all models will require modification or removal because it has been known to come in contact with the gooseneck, after you modify the heat shield you may be able to reinstall it. The heat shield on trucks is designed to protect the spare tire from the heat of the exhaust. While you are lowering the exhaust slightly it may not be enough to protect your spare without the heat shield, I would recommend keeping an eye on the tire, you may want to permanently remove it.

I would highly recommend the B & W gooseneck hitch # BWGNRK1111 for your 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty Diesel. I looked over the directions and the installs seem comparable but in my opinion, B & W has a better reputation with goosenecks and the quality is visually noticeable.

We have a video installation of the B & W gooseneck # BWGNRK1111 being installed on a 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty, that I've linked for your convenience.
