How to Pick Out Replacement Vent Cover Recommendation for a 2004 Fleetwood Wilderness
Question:
I just purchased a 2004 Fleetwood Wilderness 26ft trailer. It has two cracked plastic vent covers. I see you have them available and they all seem to be a universal size right? If so, can I replace my plastic covers with metal covers without changing any of the other hardware? Thanks!

There are a few things to look at when looking for the correct replacement vent cover for your trailer. The first item that will help is knowing the manufacturer of the vent on the trailer, such as Elixir, Jensen, Ventline etc.
The next thing that you will want to consider is the size of the vent itself. The Vent Cover, # BV0534-00, that you referenced is designed to fit plastic vent frames that are 14 inches by 14 inches. The actual outside to outside dimensions of this vent cover are approximately 14-1/2 inches by 14-1/2 inches.
After that, look at the hinge style and sliding mechanism. If there is a rolled metal hinge attached to the vent cover like on the # BV0554-01 vent cover, that you referred to then that vent will probably work for your trailer.
Basically, the easiest way to select the correct replacement cover is to remove the existing cover and match the hinge and lift bracket to the photos on our site along with the dimensions. A link to all of the replacement vent covers is provided to match up with your cover.
