Solution for Trailer Wiring on Vehicle That wont Work But Vehicle Taillights Do After Troubleshoot

Does the brake light switch on a 2001 Chevrolet 3500 have a set of wires going to truck brake lights and a set of wires going to trailer brake lights? Brake lights work on truck but want work on trailer. I have checked all fuses and beaker that I can fine. I have had two mechanic check it also they have no idea want going on.

Is the third brake light circuit functioning? Typically when that fuse blows you will see issues with trailer wiring.

It sounds like you already checked that and have exhausted most of the troubleshooting avenues you can think of. I have a solution though that will allow you to bypass the wiring issue.

If you install a universal trailer wiring kit like part # 119250KIT you can tap into your working truck lights and then run the outside of the box to the stoplight/turn signal of the trailer connector on the truck. This will save you the headache of trying to find the wiring gremlin that's plaguing your truck.
