Recommendation for a Trailer Wiring Harness for a Victory Vision Motorcycle

Ive been told this part is the one I need by a forum posting for my Victory. Your documents mention a PWM equipped motorcycle. I cant find that reference in my service manual or my owners manual. Is the 119176 or the 119178 the proper part for my bike. My trailer has a 4-prong connector and LED lights. 2010 Escalade. Thanks

I would recommend using the Upgraded Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # 119190KIT, which is the wiring harness that you mentioned. The 119190KIT includes the all of the wiring needed and a circuit tester to help determine the wires to splice into for the tail light functions.

The # 119190 wiring harness is a powered harness that draws only about 5 milliamps from the vehicles tail light circuits and provides power to the towed trailer from the motorcycle battery, protecting the motorcycles sensitive circuitry. A standard (non-powered) converter pulls power for the trailer lighting through the vehicles tail light wiring placing a much larger load on the wiring.

The # 119190 harness will also provide enough power for the trailer lighting if the motorcycles system does not provide enough voltage.

Once you have the harness you will need to determine the correct circuits on the motorcycle to connect the converter vehicle side wiring to. Using the circuit tester, included in the # 119190KIT, find the left turn signal and attach it to the yellow wire from the converter, find the right turn signal and connect the green wire from the converter, find the stop light signal and connect the red wire from the converter, find the running light signal and connect the brown wire from the converter and connect the ground wire to a suitable chassis ground. Finally, connect the power wire to the vehicle battery, using the wire supplied in the kit and the inline fuse holder. Once this connection is made and all of the wiring is routed properly you can install the 10 amp fuse and check the connector for proper function.
