Parts Needed to Add Brakes to 3500-lb Axle on E-Z Loader Trailer

2015 EZ Loader model: EZL96B 17-20 2800. Wheel : ST205/75R14C, 3500LBS axle, This trailer/ axle doesnt have any brakes from the factory. Im interested in your Titan disc brake kits but Im unsure if they will work on a trailer axle that doesnt currently have brakes. Are they strictly a replacement or does the kits include everything needed for a new first time brake install? Which surge braking system you would recommend. My boat is less than 2000 lbs loaded. Thank You.

We do offer both disc brake kits and individual components. The most popular configurations are used for the kits but if you need to order items individually we can help you with that too. Adding brakes to a trailer that does not already have them requires a number of components that are detailed in the linked article. This article is a good place to start. I also included an article about adding hydraulic drum brakes to a trailer, since this is a much lower cost option. Electric drum brakes are a third option for adding braking to the trailer; an article on that process is also included.

They key is to match your axle's capacity to the brake kit. The linked page displays all brake types rated for use on a 3500-lb axle, such as the 10 x 2-1/4-inch electric drum brake assemblies # AKEBRK-35L and # AKEBRK-35R.
