Transmission Cooler and Power Steering Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Acura MDX
Question:
As you probably are already aware, the Acura MDX has a very suspect transmission cooler that flows through the radiator. I want to tow with my 2005 MDX and realize that I need a good external transmission cooler an Im even thinking about bypassing the stock cooler due to radiator failures leading to transmission failures. What are you thoughts about that type of bypass? I was also going to do a power steering cooler as well while working on the trans cooler. What would be your product suggestions for a trans and ps cooler for my 2005 Acura MDX 126,000 miles. Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
For a transmission cooler that would work well on your 2005 Acura MDX the Derale part # D13503 would be an excellent choice. Since this is a larger cooler at 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep it would work great for if you wanted to bypass the factory cooler as well. I attached an install video on a similar Honda SUV for you to check out as well.
For a power steering cooler you would want to go with a smaller cooler since they don't generate as much heat. The part # D13212 would be great for this.
