4-Way Trailer Wiring Connector Recommendation for a 1988 Chevy Silverado


well been looking for anything showing how to basically rewire a 88 Chevy silver ado 1500 with 4 pin trailer set what wires do i splice or take off for the new set? i went and bought the harness that just has 4 pin on it have to splice in to WHAT WIRES AND WHERE?????

I have a much easier solution for installing a 4-way on your 1988 Chevy Silverado 1500. What you would want would be the part # C55315. This plugs inline with the taillight connector on your truck and does not require any hardwiring.

Otherwise you would need to test the wiring of your truck taillights with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to wire the 4-way you currently have to it. White wire would get grounded, brown wire runs to the wire that comes on with the running/head lights, the yellow wire is the left turn/brake signal and the green wire goes to the right turn stop signal.
