Reducing Bike Rack Movement in a Trailer Hitch on a 2014 Subaru Forester

Question:

Although I dont have a Curt hitch I do have one in the same class Drawtite Class 2 with 1 1/4inch receiver. I would like to minimize the bounce on my hitch mounted bike rack 1 Up USA. I am well under the tongue weight limit. I want to use the Curt stabilizer strap however I have a spoiler at the top of my hatch and Im pretty sure it will not tolerate the force applied to it by the strap. Are there any alternative ways to use this strap that will achieve the desired result of minimizing the torque placed on the hitch.

Expert Reply:

Since using the stabilization strap # 18050 would put stress on the spoiler on your 2014 Subaru Forester I recommend using a different approach since there isn't really anywhere else the strap can attach to the vehicle. An anti-rattle device such as # RM-061-125 will help minimize the amount of movement of accessories used in your hitch.
