Class III Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2007 Honda CR-V to Carry 4-Bike Rack

Question:

HI, Ive read over your website a bit thanks for all of the precise and helpful information. I have a 2007 Honda CR-V and would like to buy a bike rack for four bikes, therefor need a class three hitch. I read about your hidden class 3 hitch and would to take that route. But for budgetary reasons I am wondering if you have a simpler and less expensive hitch that would work for my car and still be strong enough to support four bikes although usually will be carrying one or two bikes. Thanks!

The most budget-friendly trailer hitch confirmed to fit your 2007 Honda CR-V that will still allow you to carry 4 bikes is the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 13555. This hitch offers a 2 inch receiver that will work well for a 4-bike rack. The Class I hitches for your 2007 CR-V are more budget-friendly than the Class III hitches, but with a Class I hitch you would be limited to only carrying 2 bikes.

The Curt # 13555 hitch does not require any drilling for installation, but the exhaust will need to be lowered temporarily. This is to allow you easier access to the mounting points in the frame for the hitch. Lowering the exhaust is required to install all of the hitches we offer that are confirmed as a fit. I've attached an installation video and the installation instructions for this hitch for you.

A really great, economical, 4-bike rack for your CR-V is the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. This 4-bike rack features anti-sway cages on Hold Fast cradles that secure your bikes at 3 points to help prevent bike sway and bike-to-bike contact during travel. This rack also has an anti-rattle hitch pin to limit movement of the rack inside the hitch receiver. I've attached a review video of this bike rack on a similar CR-V for you.

If you plan on carrying any women's or children's bikes that do not have traditional upper frame bars, as a men's bike would, I recommend using a bike adapter bar, # UB01, to make loading and securing the bikes easier. I've attached a review video of this adapter bar for you as well.
