Does the Trailer Valet xl work with a trailer which has surge brakes?

The Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL25 would work on a trailer with surge brakes. But when you are backing the trailer up you may find that the brakes of the trailer want to engage if you are trying to back up a hill. If you have a manual lockout on the actuator you would want to engage it.
Under most circumstances the brakes would not want to engage.
