Lightweight Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2014 Mazda 3 Hatchback
Question:
I have purchased a Draw-Tite 24914 class 1 trailer hitch for my 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback which will be installed soon. I am looking for a lightweight bike rack that will carry 2 bikes. I am considering a Thule Helium model 9042PRO. Can you confirm that this will work for this application? Any different recommendations, considering light weight and ease of installing/removing are very important to me?

My favorite lightweight bike rack to recommend for Class I hitches is the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack # HLY94FR. This is a platform bike rack that only weighs 20 lbs and can carry two bikes up to 35 lbs each. The biggest drawback to platform bike racks has always been the weight of them, but with this rack you get the best of both worlds.
The Thule Helium Pro part # TH9042PRO weighing in at 19 lbs would also work, but the Hollywood Racks Destination will be much easier to load bikes on as platform bikes are basically the easiest to load.
This would be the bike rack I would recommend for the Class I Draw-Tite Hitch # 24914 on your Mazda 3. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
