You want to check your rails, to see if you have the 4-bolt rails or the 10-bolt rails. For your 1996 Ford F350 8 foot bed the 10-bolt rails are part # RP58058. The rails look similar but they have the mounting holes in different locations.

If you have the 10-bolt base rails Reese Universal Base Rails 10-Bolt, # RP58058, you need the Reese Universal Installation Kit (No Base Rails) 10-Bolt, # RP30439. This kit is the mounting brackets with the hardware, but not the base rails.

If you want the whole 10-bolt installation kit that is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP30035. This kit is the base rails, mounting brackets and hardware.

If you have the 4-bolt base rails, which are no longer available, then you will need the Reese Universal Installation Kit (No Base Rails) 4-Bolt, # RP30125. This kit is the mounting brackets and the hardware without the base rails.
