Is the Thule OutWay 2Bike or 3Bike the Better Choice for Mounting My Mountain and Hybrid Bikes

Question:

I have two adult bikes, one mountain bike and one hybrid. They each weigh about 32-33. Should I get a Thule OutWay 3-bike because the weight of the my bikes is so close to 66lb max of the 2-bike model? I plan to do highway driving with bike rack. If you do recommend the 3 bike, how should I mount them?

I recommend the Thule OutWay -3 bike rack # TH56BV to easily mount your bikes on your 2013 Toyota Corolla. This rack allows you to carry up to 99 lbs. so you will not have to worry about carrying too close to the weight capacity. Also, mounting two bikes is easier on a bike rack which carries 3 bikes over a bike rack only designed for two.

When mounting your bikes, always have the heavier bike mounted closer to the vehicle. In your case, the hybrid bike most likely weighs more and should be mounted first. Also make sure the first bike should be loaded with the handlebars on the driver's side of the vehicle. The second bike needs to face the other direction with the handlebars on the passengers side. When mounted correctly, you will not have to worry about your rack on the highway. Thule is a leader in the bike rack industry and the OutWay-3 rack is made from durable molded nylon construction which is strong yet lightweight.

If you are carrying any women's or step-through frame bikes without the top horizontal cross tube, you may want to consider a bike adapter bar similar to # TH982XT to make loading your bike easier.

I have attached a review video for the Thule OutWay 3 bike rack and a review video of the bike adapter bar you may want to check out.
