Ambiant Temperature Rating for Camco Propane Supply Flex Hose # CAM59843

Can this hose be exposed to freezing temperature in the winter. I am considering outdoor installation for cabin in mountains. would not be used below 32F but would be exposed to winter temperature below freezing.

Great news! I spoke to my contact at MB Sturgis and he informed me that 32F should not be an issue for the propane flew supply hose # 100473-20-MBS.

These types of flexible hoses are intended to be used with an ambient temperature range of -40F to +140F. But to just remember when cold, they do become a little stiffer and should not be bent at too sharp of a radius.

He continued to tell me that these types of flexible hoses are supposed to be able to pass a “cold weather test”. This test basically has you place the hose assembly in a temperature chamber for 24-hrs at -40F and then it is immediately removed and wrapped around a steel mandrel that is at a minimum of 10x the inside diameter of the hose. Upon doing this, there should be no signs of cracking or signs of physical damage. So, the 10x the inside diameter is what is meant by “too sharp of a radius”.

I have linked the Camco Propane Supply Hose to this page for your purchasing convenience.
