Adding a supplemental transmission cooler to your 2008 Chevy Silverado is a great way to provide better and more efficient cooling. You will keep the factory one and add a supplemental cooler in line with the system for maximum cooling efficiency.

The fluid will flow from the transmission, into the factory cooler, out to the supplemental cooler, and then back to the transmission. I recommend Derale cooler # D13503. It is one of the most popular coolers for not just your truck but most vehicles.

The only other part I recommend for this installation is fitting # D13035 so you won't have to cut and flare any lines for installation. I have linked videos of both of these parts for you.
