Good question. First thing you need to know is that since you have hydraulic surge brakes you will also need a weight distribution system that is compatible with surge brakes. To pick out the best system for your tow vehicle and trailer we need to know the loaded tongue weight of your setup. This includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle in your vehicle. I attached a Help Article on determining tongue weight for you to check out.

Once you know that information we can pick you out a weight distribution system, or you can check out the link I attached that has all of the different weight distribution systems we carry that are designed to work with surge brakes. The Husky Center Line you were looking at is compatible with surge brakes, so if this is the correct tongue weight the # HT32218 could be a good choice for you.

Let's say the 6,500 lb figure you listed is accurate, tongue weight is usually 10-15 percent of the entire weight of the trailer so you are looking at a tongue weight range of 650-975lbs. Most likely it will be on the lighter end since it is a boat. So most likely a system like the # HT32217 rated for 600-800lbs of tongue weight would work great, but you still need to determine loaded tongue weight first.

If you have a pole tongue trailer you will need to use a pole tongue adapter like the # RP58393 to use a weight distribution system.

The Husky part # HT32218 is not compatible with this adapter and Husky does not offer an adapter so you would need to go with a different weight distribution system.

If you would like to tell me what tongue weight you end up getting, I'd be more than happy to help you select the correct weight distribution system for your needs.
