The Curt bike rack # C18030 is designed to fit 1-1/4 inch Class II hitches and 2 inch hitches. There are Class I, II, and III hitches available for the 2009 Outback and Class II and Class III hitches for the 2016 Outback. Provided that your Outbacks both have Class II or Class III trailer hitches and not an aftermarket Class I or the Subaru factory hitch then the bike rack will fit.
