How to Adjust Height of Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Offset Adapter CAB-C5GX1216

Question:

I purchased the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset a few years back thinking that I was going to end up buying a short bed truck. But I bought a long bed and the offset seems to move the angle of the 5th wheel from the trailer just enough that it can hit the sides of the long bed.. I was wondering if their was a way or a kit that could be bought in order to make this more like the Code: CAB-C5G. Thanks for your time and help in advance

It sounds like you're having a clearance issue between the tops of the truck bed rails and the bottom of the trailer overhang, rather than a front-to-back clearance issue between the overhang and the back of the truck's cab.

Both the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Offset Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 and the no-offset adapter # CAB-C5G have a height adjustment range of 4-inches. This dimension is referenced from the top of gooseneck ball to the base of the king pin box. Height ranges from 12- to 16-inches between these points on both products. Adjustment is made at both the more-forward portion that grips the gooseneck ball and at the rear part.

Please refer to the linked video at the :45-second mark to see the adjustment mechanisms.
