Using Hitch Mount Recumbent Bike Rack on an RV

When reading through peoples comments I noticed one that said the instructions say not to install on a towed vehicle. My intent was to put this on the back of a fifth wheel RV. Can you tell me why the instructions say not to do this? I cannot see any reason not to be able to do that.

Many hitch mount bike racks are not confirmed to be used behind an RV because of all the additional movement you will get. For that reason there are bike racks specifically designed for RV use.

The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663 could be a solution for you. It is designed for bikes with a max wheelbase of 52 inches and not for recumbent bikes like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z-R you referenced. However, I verified with Swagman and you can purchase the Replacement Wheel Hoops # P318 and switch them out. Beforehand you'll want to make sure the rack will support your bikes because it's only rated for up to 35 pounds per bike.
