Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Cooler Recommendation for a 2000 Chevy Tahoe

I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe Z71 with the 5.7L engine. 0wners manual calls for an unspecified oil cooler for towing loads of 2,000 lbs. or more. No mention of transmission cooler. What would be my best choice in an oil cooler, and would the combination Derail D15902 be a good idea?

Your idea of using a combination cooler, # D15902, is the best option for 2 reasons. First it has multiple thread types to accommodate various common engine threads and oil filters. And second, having a supplemental cooler for the transmission as well, in this case a cooler that will accept 2 fluids, will help get the most life out of the transmission (since factory coolers are adequate at best). So you are right on the money with the combination cooler and it is what I would have recommended if you didn't already beat me to it!
