Will SportRack Swing-Away Bike Rack Clear the Spare Tire on a 2011 Toyota RAV4

Does the SR2415 SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack - 2inch Hitches - Swinging work with a 2011 Toyota RAV4 with hard cover over the spare tire?

First, in order to use the SportRack swinging bike rack # SR2415 your 2011 Toyota RAV4 would have to have a trailer hitch with a 2-inch receiver opening such as # e98864. On the RAV4 models on which we installed Class III hitches with 2-inch receivers the average distance from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the spare tire is approximately 6-1/2 inches.

The SportRack bike rack sticks out 9-1/2 inches so it will clear the spare tire on your RAV4. I have linked a video showing the rack on a different vehicle but one that does have a rear mounted spare tire.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
