The first thing I would check is the your trailer to vehicle plug. Check to see if any of the pins in the connector look corroded. If the pins look good, make sure that there is plenty of dielectric grease # LT37534 in the connection. The grease will help ensure a good electrical connection while preventing corrosion and sealing out contaminants that might cause electrical shorts.

Next I would check the fuses in the truck. You can use a tester like # 40376 to check the fuses to see if any of them are blown and need to be replaced. According to the 2014 Dodge Ram owner's manual the fuse for the trailer parking or running lights will be located under the hood in the Power Distribution Center near the battery. A 20 amp yellow fuse in slot F29.

If the fuse is good, then you will need to look at the wiring on the truck and the trailer. With the lights on, use your tester to check if there is power in the truck's connector for the running lights. If there is no power, then there is a problem in the connector or the wire in the vehicle's tow wiring.

If everything on the truck side is working correctly, then you will need to make sure that all the grounds on the light are good and not broken or corroded. Even if you tried this with another truck and the lights worked, this does not mean that the trailer wiring is good. Some vehicle's tow wiring can compensate if there is a bad ground making it appear that the trailer lighting is working without any underlying issues.

I linked a help article on trailer wiring that might help.
