Recommendations For Carrying Three Sail Boards And A SUP At Back Of Winnebago

I need to carry 3 boards sail and SUP verticle and sideways on back of my Winnebago view in a 2inch hitch. Im thinking install a 1 roadmaster dual hitch receiver 2 install a 31 x 47 pro series solo cargo carrier in bottom receiver and 3 install a Yakima ridgeback 5 bike rack in top hitch. I will not use to bike rack for bikes bit to separatr the 3 boards resting on the carrier. Do the rubber bike rests come off the rack as they will need to so I can put rack pads on instead. Will my idea work? My SUP is the widest board at 35. Thanks and any suggestions are appreciated.

Trying to carry all of your boards and a SUP on a cargo carrier and then use a bike carrier to separate the boards is not a really good idea. It would be extremely hard to stabilize the boards on a cargo carrier. I do have some recommendations that will work for you.

To make sure everything is secured properly I recommend the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, part # Y08107. This is like having a roof rack on wheels with 78-inch crossbars. The weight capacity for this trailer is 250-lbs.

For carrying the boards we have a few options you may want to check out. I recommend the Thule Stacker, part # TH830. This allows you to attach up to 4 kayaks vertically(in your case, boards) to the crossbars. These fold down flat when not in use and it includes one pair of ratcheting tie-downs and two straps.

For your SUP, it is not recommended to carry a SUP on its side. That is why most SUP carriers are built to carry the board flat. You would have enough room on the Rack and Roll with the 78-inch crossbars if you use a carrier like part # TH895.

I have attached links to a couple review videos for these products you can take a look at.
