Side Rail Spacer Size for the Demco Hijacker 21

Question:

I just received my new Demco 21K 5th Wheel Hitch. Am in the process of assembly and asking what size spacer 1/4inch or 3/8inch if any at all did you use when assembling the side rails? I have a 2017 F-350 Super Duty with factory installed 5th Wheel/Gooseneck kit installed. Im sure the bed on a 2015 or 2016 would be the same. Thanks

The spacer that is included with the Demco 21k Hijacker part # DM8550038 that goes between the attachment bracket of the hitch and the main body of the hitch is 3/8 of an inch thick. If you check out the install instructions link I attached it's item number 14.
