Recommended Ball Mount For 2 Inch Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver

What type of ball mount do you recommend for the Draw Tite Max Fram hitch receiver 2ln receiver class III?

Expert Reply:

I recommend an adjustable ball mount for almost all applications. This will allow you to adjust the ball for various trailer heights and in most cases have a 2 inch and a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball to fit different couplers. One of my favorites is Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale - 2" Hitch - 6" Drop, 7" Rise, # WS6-2, because it is a billet aluminum shank with a stainless steel hitch ball that can change out. The hitch has a locking mechanism for securing the hitch ball and it has a built in scale for you to know what tongue weight you are carrying.

For a less expensive option, I recommend the Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount - 2" & 2-5/16" Balls - 14,000 lbs, # C45900, which will give you the adjustability without all the extras. In either case, I recommend getting a locking hitch pin like the Bulldog Lifelong Trailer Hitch Lock for 2" Hitches - Flush - 2-1/2" Span - Stainless, # BD580402, to protect your investment.

If you prefer a more cost efficient option, I recommend the Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs, # 989900. This kit will give you two hitch balls, and two draw bar options with different rise and drop to fit multiple trailers. It comes with the standard pin and clip.
