Question:
Im thinking about getting a Hidden Hitch Ball Mounts - 80232, bc I want there to be enough clearance to unfold my pop up camper without having to decouple. The trailer + cargo will be at most 1500 #. Are there any disadvantages that I should be aware for getting a mount that long? What kind of leverage issues should I be aware of, such as when turning and backing up? Thanks!

Going with a longer ball mount for your situation would be a great solution. The only real downside is that you might be more likely to bang your shin against the ball mount since it will be sticking out further, but the increased length does not make for difficulty backing the trailer up or decreased backing up angle.
If anything the added length will make backing up the trailer a bit easier as the trailer will be less quick to jackknife and the added length if anything would allow you to back up to a more severe angle.
For a 2 inch ball we have the part # 63845 for a 2 inch ball or part # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.
