Question:
Hello, i just received the Draw-Tite hitch #24754 for the 2012 Eclipse. I was wondering if it is ok to use a 1/2inch .5 drill bit instead of the 15/32inch .469 drill bit called for in the instructions? I am asking because i only have a 1/2inch bit and am having difficulty finding a 15/32inch one.

Yes, the minor drilling needed to install Draw-Tite hitch # 24754 in your 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse can be done with a 1/2-inch bit rather than the specified 15/32 bit. You can use the slightly larger bit since the hole to be drilled takes the 7/16-inch carriage bolt that is secured by a hex nut.
You will want to apply a sealer like # LT37467 to the top of the bolt (from inside the trunk) to prevent entry of exhaust gases as you drive.
