In order to use the Curt E16 5th wheel trailer hitch # C16115 with the factory installed prep package on a 2012 Ford F-250 you would need to use an adapter, # RP30156. Also, since you have a short bed truck, you would need the slider version, # 16516.

But there is a version of this hitch that will fit directly in the factory puck system. It is # C16515-16020. That way you would not have to use an adapter so it is one less step when installing/removing the hitch from the truck.
