Recommendation on a Trailer Hitch With 2 Inch Receiver to Fit a 2014 Subaru Forester

I have a 2014 Subaru Forester and am in search of a 2inch hitch receiver to mount a Thule T2 on. After reading reviews for the three models listed as compatible it is unclear to me which one will have the shortest distance from the hitch pin whole to the edge of the bumper. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

For your 2014 Subaru Forester, we have a couple of hitches available that have the 2 inch receiver opening.

The Draw-Tite Max Frame Class III Hitch # 75876 and the Curt Round Tube Hitch # C13144 are two best options for a hitch with a 2 inch receiver that will fit your 2014 Forester.

Of the two hitches, I recommend the Curt hitch over the Draw-Tite. Both hitches are made to be custom-fit to your vehicle and both have the same weight capacities. I like the Curt hitch because for the same quality as the Draw-Tite hitch, the Curt hitch is more cost efficient.

When mounted, both the Draw-Tite hitch and Curt hitch sit close to the edge of the bumper on the 2014 Forester. The distance from hitch pin hole to the edge of the hitch is only a few inches.

For example, if you have the Thule T2 Pro XTR Platform 2 Bike Rack, # TH83JV, the distance to the closest rail on the rack to the center of the hitch hole measures 7 inches. With the hitch pin hole being only a few inches from the edge of the hitch, you are looking at a distance around 3-4 inches away from the hitch. There will be no issues of when using your bike rack with either the Draw-Tite or Curt hitch.

I included a link of a video showing the Curt hitch being installed on a 2014 Subaru Forester.
