Trailer Hitch Recommendation for towing Small Pop Up Camper with 2014 Ram 1500
Question:
I have a 2014 Ram 1500, looking at the Curt hitch 13333. I plan on towing a small pop up camp trailer, wondering if this hitch is the right application or if I should be looking at a class IV.

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13333 is confirmed to fit your 2014 Ram 1500 that does not have a factory hitch. The gross towing weight of this trailer hitch is 6,000 pounds, so towing a small pop up camper will not be an issue at all. There is no need for a higher rated trailer hitch for your setup. This is a custom fit hitch for your Ram 1500 with a bolt-on installation, so no drilling will be required. I have included an installation video on a Ram 1500 for you to check out.
For a wiring kit to send power to your trailer's basic light functions, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55384 if your Ram has a factory 7-way installed. This will quickly install into your vehicle by plugging directly into the 7-way OEM wiring harness. No cutting or splicing wires is required.
If you do not have a factory 7-way in your vehicle, you will use the # C59236.
You will also need a ball mount to complete your towing setup. I have included a link to our selection as well as a helpful article that details how to choose the correct one for your system.
