Just wondering if the curt q24 would fit the curt x5 adapter plate.

Yes, a Curt Q24 hitch, # C16245, will fit the X5 adapter # C16220. But the adapter is limited to 20,000 pounds gross trailer weight so you are limited to 20K even though the hitch is rated higher. And if the tow vehicle is rated less than 20K then you would go by that rating. Always go by the lowest rated component in the system.
