Question:
I have a 1976 5th wheel single axle trailer frame with no identification on the frame or axle. I would like to convert the 12, 4 bolt electric brakes to 12, 5 bolt. The axle is 3inch and I believe 7200# rated. Will the weld on flange work for this conversion. Thank you.

The brake flange that you referenced, # 4-44-1, can be welded on 3 inch axles. The brake flange will allow brake assemblies with a bolt pattern of 5 on 3-7/8 of an inch to be mounted.
The brake flange will work with 7,000 and 7,200 lbs axles.
If you are looking for brake assemblies to mount to the flanges, then I recommend the trailer brake assembly # AKEBRK-7L-SA left side and # AKEBRK-7R-SA right side. These brake assemblies will fit the 5 hole bolt pattern on the brake flanges. These assemblies are also self-adjusting brakes. These brake assemblies only need an initial adjustment when installing. After installation the brake will self-adjust.
Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left Hand - 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs
