For your 2016 Honda HRV the Curt hitch part # C11416 has been confirmed as a fit all models and would work well for you. This is a Class I hitch though, with a 1-1/4" opening, and will require your bike rack to be Class I compatible and only carry a maximum of 2 bikes. It has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity and will require a stabilization strap # 18050 for unsupported loads like bike racks or cargo carrier.

There is also the EcoHitch # 306-X7322 that has the more desirable 2" receiver. This hitch has a higher tongue weight rating of 300 lbs and will not limit your number of bikes as long as your total weight of the rack and the bike stays at or under the 300 lbs. The ecoHitch also is confirmed to fit all modes of the 2016 HRV.

I recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7322.
