For your 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, we carry a couple different trailer hitches.
The Curt Class III Hitch, # 13333, is a custom-fit hitch that uses a bolt-on mount to connect to your Ram truck. The hitch has a gross towing capacity of 6,000 lbs and a tongue weight rating of 600 lbs. This hitch has a 2 x 2 inch receiver opening.
Curt also has a Class IV hitch, # 14361, that has a gross towing weight of 10,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 1,000 lbs. This hitch might be the best option for your application if you plan to carry a little heavier loads. The hitch is also custom-fit and will bolt-on to the frame of your truck with out drilled new holes to mount.
If you need a wiring harness to run your trailer lights, I recommend the Curt Wiring Harness, # C56175, if you do not have the factory installed tow package.
If you do have the factory tow package installed, then you will need # C55381. This 4-pole flat plug will connect to OEM plugs located at the rear of your Dodge Ram.
Before deciding on a hitch, be sure to consult your owner's manual to find your vehicle's gross towing capacity and tongue weight. You will need to follow the recommended weight limits that the manufacturer list in the manual when towing.
