Hitch & Bike Rack Recommendations for 2017 Acura RDX AWD SUV
Question:
I just purchased a 2017 Acura RDX AWD SUV and Im looking for a trailer hitch. Im trying to decided between the Curt C13130 and the Draw-Tite 75784. This hitch will be used for attaching a bike rack. Which rack would you recommend? Are there significant advantages of one rack over the other? Thanks for your feedback.

Between the Curt # C13130 and the Draw-Tite # 75784 2-inch Class III hitches I recommend the Draw-Tite since it does not require you to use a support strap # 18050 as the Curt does, and since its 400-lb tongue weight rating is more than adequate for any bike rack. Plus it costs less!
As for hitch bike carriers to use with this hitch, you can use any compatible 2-inch Class III rack that has enough clearance to avoid contact with the back of the RDX. When we installed this hitch on a 2015 RDX (please see the linked video) we found that a bike rack with 4-inches (or more) clearance from the rack hitch pin hole will clear the back of the vehicle quite easily. This gives you many rack options, all shown on the linked page. And the two linked articles will help you consider which offers the best match for your bikes.
One of my favorite hitch racks for a biking family is the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack # Y02465 which offers easy assembly (tool included) and sturdy steel construction.
