Question:
i have a 2004 chev 6.6 box with a rail system in it and i am now buying a 2012 chevy with 6.6 box with a hide ball using the curt adapter plate while the centers be the same i mean is the distances going to be the same front and back or do i need to get a slider hitch

We would have recommended a sliding hitch in your 2004 since it's a 6-1/2 bed as well. Unless your trailer has a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box on it you will likely need a sliding hitch in your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado.
If you already have a fixed hitch we probably have the slider base to convert the hitch to a sliding hitch. For an example the Curt # C16570. If you let me know the exact hitch you have I'll see if we have what you need.
