We do have a few different options for you to use a brake controller with your 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class 350D.

If you have a factory 7-Way wiring connector on your GLE-Class 350 then you simply need the Plug-In Adapter # 3066-P for a Tekonsha controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which installs on a connector that can be found under your driver's side dash behind that carpet that is behind your brake pedal.

If your vehicle doesn't have the factory 7-Way then it has no plug-n-play option, so you will need to hard wire the brake controller.

For this option I recommend the ZCI Installation Kit # 119250KIT. This kit connects to the wiring behind your warehouse but doesn't require you to splice for your trailer signal lights.

The next thing that you will need to install is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will mount on your trailer hitch receiver and plug directly into the ZCI 4-Pole wiring harness that you just installed. The additional 2 wires in the kit will be ran to the front of your Mercedes-Benz and connect to both your brake controller and your battery. I have attached a link to one of our helpful articles that goes into detail about how to do this.

The last thing that you will need to do is connect the wiring from your brake controller to the wiring that you now have on your Mercedes-Benz. The blue wire from the pigtail of your brake controller to to the brake wire that goes back to your 7-Way, the black wire will be ran to a 20 amp circuit breaker which is then connected to the positive post on your battery, the red wire will be spliced into the stoplight switch signal which is located behind your brake pedal, and finally the white wire will be ran to the negative side of your battery.

I have attached some helpful articles and a demonstration video that will help you with this installation.
