Replacement Trailer Wiring Harness for 2009 Ford Escape

I do not have any power to the running light pin on the four flat and when connected to the trailer I dont have running lights. The brake, turn signals and four way flashers work fine. When the tow vehicle is shut off and the lights are off after about 30 minutes the running lights on the tow vehicle come on but not on the trailer. I cleaned and reconnected the ground but no difference. When I originally installed the box it worked then stopped. Curt says there has to be a short in the tow vehicle wiring. I would agree if I had issues with the tow vehicle lights. They did replace the box and contacted me later to say the box was bad. About a week later I was contacted again and they said the box was good. With either box I never had running lights for more than 20 minutes. I was thinking of switching to the T-One or Hopkins your company offers if it might solve the problem. The trailer is new with LEDs and works fine on a friends truck. Your thoughts? Thx

We don't have the best luck with the Curt trailer wiring converter boxes. We have found that they short out easier than the Tekonsha/T-One brand. Typically they are just rated for higher amperages which makes the difference.

The part # 118551 would be what I would recommend for your 2009 Ford Escape. This has a 2.5 higher amperage rating that the Curt you had does for the running lights.
