Weight distribution systems are hard to describe, but basically it's a hitch accessory that uses spring bar tension to help distribute the tongue weight of a trailer up to the front axle of a vehicle. This typically allows the tow vehicle more capacity than without and that's why the capacities are listed higher.

The Draw Tite hitch part # 75599 which is a fit for your 2006 Acura MDX has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs when not using a WD hitch, but with one can tow up to 5,000 lbs. For a system that would work well with this we have the # RP66082.Which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs.
