Recommended Trailer Hitch With Extension For 2003 Chevrolet Silverado With Camper

Question:

I have 2003 chevy Silverado. I just put a truck camper on and I want to pull a small boat. I need information on a hitch extender that needs to be approx. 44inch long. The boat is a 13foot aluminium. Truck has a 2inch receiver. Can I use the existing hitch and receiver tube or do I have to replace the hitch. Also I need information a wiring harness that for this and also has a four wire plug for the boat.

The only way you can get the extension you need for a trailer hitch is by replacing your trailer hitch with the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch, part # TLC1205. This is a Class V hitch and it has dual 2-inch receiver openings.

You can then use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension, part # TLE1548. This extension has dual shanks that fit in the dual receivers.

Since your truck comes with a 7-way you can easily replace it with part # 30955. This will give you a working 7-way and 4-way connector on your truck.

The 4-way extension I recommend you use is part # HM47115. This will plug in to your truck 4-way trailer connector and your boat trailer with the 4-way. This extension is 48-inches long.

Thanks for the information, I forgot to include that my truck is a short bed. Is that a different hitch then the one you suggested? Thanks again for your help

Since you have a short bed truck, the trailer hitch that will work for you is part # TLC1204. This hitch will also work with the extension mentioned above.
