Sway Control System Compatible With 2016 Kia Sorento V6 AWD

Question:

This WD system comes up when I search for my Sorento 2016 v6 AWD, but the 2 receivers you sell for that vehicule don not allow for Weight distribution hitches. Can I use a WD hitch with a Sorento 2016 v6 AWD ?

This system isn't rated for use with Weight Distribution Systems, so the constant upward force could hurt your hitch and take it out of warranty. Using a WD system will not increase the rated capacity of your hitch or the listed tongue weight capacity of your vehicle as it is stated in your owners manual but many people like the sway control.

If you don't have a trailer hitch receiver, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 75908. This has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. According to your owners manual, there are 3 different motors and their are 3 different motors and 3 different tongue weight capacities. If you have the 2.0 motor, your tongue weight max is 350 lbs. If you have the 2.2 motor, your tongue weight max is 280 lbs. If you have the 3.3 motor, your tongue weight max is 500 lbs. With any motor your max trailer weight is 1650 lbs without trailer brakes or 2000 lbs with trailer brakes.

If you want the benefits of anti-sway, you can use a friction bar like the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 along with the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts - Class III and IV # RP26003.

If you don't already have a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B which allows you to tow your trailer level as well as stows away nicely when not in use for a clean look.
