2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with 7-Way Connector and Electric Trailer Brake Controller Light Not Functioning

I recently ordered a break control and wiring harness from etrailer. Plugged it into blue plug under dash the light doesnt come on. Witch would mean I dont have power? I checked fuses cant find a blow fuse. What else could it be?

I was able to pull up your purchase histrory and see that you have the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 39510. On this brake controller, as you will see in the attached video, you won't get a light until you plug a trailer in.

If you put an incandescent circuit tester like # PTW2993 on the brake controller pin on your trailer connection, it should draw enough power for that connection to be seen without a trailer connection and you should see that light illuminate. This pin is at the 5 o'clock position on your 7-way.

If with a trailer connected you don't get signal, use that circuit tester to check the brake controller for power. If you don't have power, trace that wire and replace as needed. If you have power, trace the blue wire to the connector as somewhere in the wire there is a short so the controller won't see connection. Replace wire as needed with # 10-1-1.
