Trailer Brake Assemblies that Fit Older Axles that are 12 inch in Diameter and Attach with 5 Bolts

Question:

I have a 1975 Donahue goose neck trailer. It has tandem Hayes 8,000 lb. axles The brakes are 12inch x 2. I cant find magnets or parts for them anymore. Looking to replace. My backing plates have a five bolt pattern with a 3.25inch center hole. The trailer has 12 x 16,5, 12 ply tires. My drums and hubs are all in good shape. I looked at your Item # 185100. Only good for 7,000 lbs., but its all I can find in a 12inch x 2. What else can I do? Im retired now, and dont haul the heavy loads anymore. Mostly bard and some fire wood.

Based on the dimensions you listed the etrailer.com brake assembly kit part # AKEBRK-7-SA would be your best option. It is 12 inch by 2 inch and has the 5 bolt mounting pattern.

I attached a picture that shows the dimensions of the bolt pattern for you to check out as well.

Question:

Where are these made? I would like to use MADE IN USA parts, if I can. Thank you Item # AKEBRK-7-SA

I do have an USA made solution for you but the kit I mentioned are not made here.

Instead you would want the Dexter assemblies # 23-464 for the left hand side and then # 23-465 for the right hand side.
