Recommended Class III Hitch for Use with 2-Inch Bike Rack on 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon

Need to buy a hitch for my 2006 Subaru outback solely for the purpose of carrying a bike rack, no towing. Bike rack is for a 2inch receiver, I know my car takes 1 1/4 hitch and I can buy an additional adaptor...I need to know what hitch to buy? Thanks

You are fortunate that for your 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon we offer three different hitch Classes, including the 2-inch Class III type which is what I recommend. Draw-Tite 2-inch hitch # 75560 installs without drilling using included hardware. (This does NOT fit on the Sport verion, please note.) An installation article and video are linked.

Using a 2-inch hitch avoids the expense and weight capacity losses of hitch adapters and will result in a safer set-up. All adapters cause you to lose half of your hitch's rated capacity so avoiding them entirely is a big advantage.
