Can Wiring Harness be Installed Before Trailer Hitch on a 2009 Dodge Journey

Question:

I just recieved my trailer hitch C13201 and wiring kit 118474 for a 2009 Dodge Journey and was wondering if the wiring can be installed before the hitch? Would doing this have any risk of creating a wiring short when the hitch is installed? Thanks.

You can install the hitch, # C13201, and wiring, # 118474, in any order you want on your 2009 Dodge Journey. It would not cause any short or other issue to do so. I have included links to videos showing example installations of both parts for you.
