Is There a Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver Available for a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

Question:

Hi there, I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring limited, Hardtop, convertible, 3.5L and dual exhaust, I would like to get a hitch that is both Class II, and obviously will fit the dual exhaust. Im looking to use this with a cargo carrier that I would mount a large deck box too as a tool box for my small business and wire the lighting as well Also weird, I would like to wire a 7 pin lighting, so I can wire in backup lights. What is there thats available? Also looking for recommendations on a cargo carrier that would allow me to do this while still being able to use the hardtop convertible function with it mounted if possible. I know Im a pain. Thanks in advance for any/all assistance!

The only trailer hitch receiver option for your 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible is the Draw-Tite Sportframe # 24871, which is only a Class I hitch. Due to the design of your Sebring, there are no Class II options available. This trailer hitch has a Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) of 2,000 lbs and a Tongue Weight (TW) of 200 lbs. I checked an online version of a manual for you Sebring and if had the same weight capacities that this hitch has, but you will want to check your copy of the owner's manual for your Sebring's weight capacities just to make sure.

For a cargo carrier, I recommend going with the Curt # C18110 which has a weight capacity of 300 lbs so you will not have to worry about maxing out your cargo carrier before your trailer hitch receiver. I also recommend using the Locking Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin # S64029 to help reduce play and deter theft of your cargo carrier. This will not interfere with the convertible function on your Sebring.

Instead of connecting a 7-Way wiring harness, it would be easier and more cost-effective to just install the LED Backup Light # BUL12CB, along with the pigtail # A45CB. Cut the ring terminal off and connect the ground to the 4-Way ground using Butt Connectors, part # DW05744-5, 16 Gauge Wire, part # DW02359-1, and a quick splice connector, part # SWC501746-1. You can then run 16 Gauge wire to a Male Quick-Disconnect # DW01896-1 by the 4-Way on the cargo carrier. You will then want to splice the 16 Gauge wire into the reverse light signal on your Sebring and run that wiring to a Female Quick-Disconnect # DW01899-1 and keep that by the 4-Way on your Sebring.

All you will need to do is connect your 4-Way wiring harnesses and the male and female quick-disconnects to have the correct lights that you want on your cargo carrier.
