Why Does Hopkins Trailer Wiring Harness Install Differently than Others for a 2011 Chevy Impala

Why does the Curt wiring harness #C56046 have ONE connector to attach to the PASSSANGER side of the 2011 Chevrolet Impala but the Hopkins harness #HM11141595 has TWO connectors to attach to both DRIVER and PASSANGER sides?

The Curt wiring harness # C56046 as well as the Tekonsha harness # 118417 both plug into just one side of the 2011 Chevy Impala. The main tail light wiring harness that runs from the front to the back of the vehicle is located on that side so it is possible to just tap into that harness.

The Hopkins harness # HM11141595 is just a different design. The connectors for the passengers side do not have the wiring in them to get the signals for the left side of the vehicle like the other harnesses do. Instead they decided to make a separate set of connectors to plug in line on the left side of the vehicle. Either design will work for you though. I have linked videos on all 3 harnesses for you.
