Recommendation on a Breakaway Kit to Fit a Tandem Axle Trailer

Do all breakaway kits come with the battery included? For double axle, 4- brakes, 5000 # trailer, which kits are recommended? Is charging only provided by towing vehicle? Thanks,

Most of the breakaway kits that we offer do include the battery. It is also a good idea to get a kit that has a built in battery charger.

I recommend the Tekonsha Breakaway Kit # 50-85-313. This kit will include an integrated battery charger along with the battery. The battery charger is a multi-stage charger that will extend the life of the battery and allowing for quick re-charging.

This kit also includes a push to test feature. There is a tester that will show if the battery is charged or not through different color LEDs.
