Location of Stop Light Switch Wire on 2017 Chevrolet Equinox

hi...I have to install your ETBC7 kit for electric trailer brakes...everything is good...but I need the location for the brake stop signal on my 2017 Chevrolet equinox...thanks

The 2017 Chevrolet Equinox has a brake pedal sensor which makes it difficult to locate and use the stop light switch to install our # ETBC7 kit. You'll need to access the BCM (body control module) under the dash which will likely be near the driver's left knee. You'll want to use a circuit tester like # 3808 to confirm you have the correct wire that only shows power when the brake pedal is pressed.
Another option is to create your own stop light switch using # RM-751439. The kit is normally used when flat towing the Equinox but can be used with a brake controller. You'll be bypassing the vehicle's stop light switch so the brake lights will not light up when using just the manual override lever of the brake controller.
