Can 2 Kayaks Be Carried on a Chevrolet Colorado Using the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier
Question:
Im very interested in the extend a truck, but have a couple questions. Can I use to carry 2 13 foot kayaks on it. I have a Chevy Colorado with a shorter bed. Im not sure if its feasible, but would love to get your assessment, as it seems like it would work. Best

There are 2 things that you will need to check before knowing for certain whether the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier # DTA944-968-924 will allow you to carry 2 kayaks with your Colorado or not.
First of all the roof rack part has a weight capacity that is equal to that of your roof. You will want to check your owner's manual to verify what that is. The second thing that you will need to check is the width of your kayaks. The rooftop crossbar has an adjustable width of 45-60 inches depending on the size of your roof. The hitch-mount extension has a width of 48 inches.
As long as your 2 kayaks are not wider than either the roof of your Colorado or the hitch-mount extension (whichever is less will be the deciding factor), you should have no problems.
You will also need additional Foam Blocks # MPG158, Straps # TH521, and Hitch Pin # PC3 or # e98880.
